Auditions for the Texas Youth Ballet Company are held within a class setting. Please arrive early to have adequate time to check in and prepare for the audition. Please wear a black leotard, pink tights and a performance-ready bun.
Students from other schools are welcome to audition for TYB, with the understanding that there is an expectation of training at TYB should they be asked to join the company
1. Make the company their primary activity and commit to attending class and rehearsal as a priority over their other activities 90% of the time.
2. Be loyal to the school, the brand and the company. Do not perform with another group without permission from the Artistic Director.
3. Attend all company meetings, rehearsals and performances except in the cases of health or family emergency.
4. Meet the mandatory requirements for participation in fundraising for the company.
5. Behave respectfully toward the Artistic Director at all times.
6. Behave respectfully and kindly toward your fellow dancers at all times.
7. Take care to maintain a neat and tidy appearance both in class and at company functions.
8. Support and get along with the Apprentices and other Company members as part of your ballet family.

1. Sign their dancer up for the Company Class in the Year-Round Schedule to fulfill their company fee requirements.
2. Assist your child in meeting their fundraising requirements ($200 program ads or donations, $100 additional for each family member company dancer)
3. Volunteer for a year-long volunteer position, and one or more secondary volunteer jobs.
4. Support our dancers by attending company performances and functions whenever possible.
5. Represent an attitude of helpful, positive volunteerism to other school parents working alongside you
6. Behave respectfully and kindly toward your fellow dancers at all times.
1. Fill out the audition application. Be sure to include all of your contact information.
2. Attend the parent or dancer orientation on the day of the audition.
3. Arrive 30 min. before class time, neatly dressed with headshot and a filled out application form (application forms will be available at the studio if you forget yours.)
4. You will be notified of your acceptance via email within a week of the audition. The contract will be attached and must be signed and returned by May 24th.
